After graduating with a Bachelor’s degree from Norwich University in 96’, Jay started his construction career in the cellular phone tower and antenna installation business in Southern Florida. He spent several years coordinating and managing projects across South Florida, transitioning to commercial-based construction. His focus was on interior high-end retail and themed-based projects such as Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville Restaurant at Universal Studios Florida, several Muvico movie theaters and themed restaurant construction. His experience in commercial construction spanned 12 years in Florida, Virginia / Metro Washington DC, Boston, Vermont, and New Hampshire markets.
True Grit.
Building Trust.
Jay’s desire to be more hands-on and seeking the true grit and gratification of doing the physical aspects of the projects in conjunction with managing them, he was led to the residential side of the construction world in 2008. After many years of working for and with other companies in the residential construction industry, the realization was reoccurring. His desire to sell his own work ethic, skills, abilities, and determination to provide the confidence and trust in a true honest contractor to customers needed to be pursued. His beginnings with continued small side projects and “do it yourselfer” home projects aligned him ultimately into the startup and formation of Stowebury Construction Services LLC.
Jay is a military veteran, serving three years in the United States Marine Corps Reserve and another six years in the Army National Guard in VT and Florida. His drive and discipline as a US Marine has formed many years of hard work, dedication and commitment to his work, business and family of three children Colton, Kenzie and Laini and his wife and partner of over 20 years Amy.
